The Request for Information (RFI) is a well-known method used by federal agencies when conducting market research to finalize a solution approach, or an acquisition strategy. While the Government does not intend to make an award as a result of the RFI, it can and does lead to an award to competitive and non-competitive awards for many who choose to respond. The challenge for industry partners is the time and money RFIs take away from RFP and RFQ activities, and the likelihood they'll not get feedback regarding disposition.
