    Contracting Connections Summit 2023Secondly, small businesses have been awarded 32% fewer contracts in 2018 versus 2009. The number of companies working on contracts with the Department of Defense has declined by 24,000. The General Services Administration has seen an 8,000 company decline while the Department of Veteran Affairs and Interior both contracted 13,600 fewer companies.

    DFAS is hosting a virtual Small Business Expo for HUBZone vendors on 1 November 2023.

    The objective of the DFAS Small Business Expo is for senior leaders to conduct market research with industry. DFAS’ focus will be on seeking HUBZone speaker/presentations of successful performance under the following NAICS- 541511, 541512, 541513, 541519 and 541611. Currently coordinating guest speakers from SBA and DoD addressing HUBZone efforts.

    DFAS is seeking White Papers and interested vendors should provide examples (use cases) of where they have applied innovative solutions related to NAICS. After receipt of White Papers, DFAS will review and invite selected vendors to showcase their solutions and capabilities during the DFAS Small Business Expo. Logistical details related to the Expo will be provided to the invitees.

    The ideal white paper will include verifiable experience and expertise in the NAICS- 541511, 541512, 541513, 541519 and 541611. Additionally, experience and expertise statement should include recent and relevant contracts (last 3 years), including customer, contract number (if DoD), dollar value, period of performance, and scope of the work. The white paper needs to be no more than 3 pages. Please mark each page of your white paper with “Proprietary Information. Do not disclose
