The goal of SBIR is to commercialize or transition new, innovative technology to meet the needs of the funding agency. 11 Federal agencies participate, including DOD, NASA, Dept of Energy, National Science Foundation, NIH, Dept of Transportation, EPA, USDA, Homeland Security, Education, NOAA and NIST.
