Update on DOT’s DBE Program for Construction Contractors

  • 19 Oct 2022
  • 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM (EDT)

With both the Infrastructure Act and the Inflation Reduction Act bringing billions of dollars in new funding to state and local infrastructure projects, the contracting community is focusing its attention on DOT’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, which is designed to provide opportunities for small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, Tribes, and Alaska Native Corporations to participate on federally-assisted highway, transit, and aviation projects. With this influx of funding, more small businesses are flocking to the program while others are seeking to leverage their participation in the program or the participation of their DBE subcontractors to secure new contracts. Join Jackie Unger, a Partner in PilieroMazza’s Government Contracts Group, as she reveals the keys to navigating the DBE Program for large and small construction contractors.

She’ll cover: the ins and outs of DBE eligibility and certification; prime contractor obligations when using DBE subcontractors; and how the Infrastructure Act and Inflation Reduction Act are impacting the DBE program.
