  • Cross Street Market, 1065 S Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21230

One of the country’s oldest public markets, Cross Street Market was originally built in 1846 as a series of open-air sheds. Redesigned by city architect Frank Davis, and re-opened in 1871, the Market has seen several redesigns throughout the years, including a two-story Italian Revival-style structure and the 31,800-square-foot building of today, as well as numerous refreshes of facade and signage.

In 2018, CSM Ventures launched a long-awaited Market-wide renovation, with the City retaining ownership of the landmark building. Cross Street Market, slated to re-open in phases starting this spring, is set to be home to more than two dozen independently owned and operated businesses, in individually designed stalls. Once again, the Heart of Federal Hill, Cross Street Market is in close proximity to the Inner Harbor, Oriole Park, and M&T Bank Stadium, and convenient to all major public transit.
