    CARES Act Provider Relief Fund

HHS began delivery of initial Relief Fund payments to providers in support of the national response to COVID-19 as part of the distribution of the $100 billion provided under the CARES Act. HHS is currently processing $30 billion in payments to facilities and providers that received Medicare fee for service reimbursements in 2019. HHS is developing targeted distributions of the remaining $70 billion that will focus on providers in areas particularly impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, rural providers, providers of services with lower shares of Medicare reimbursement or who predominantly serve the Medicaid population, as well as for providers requesting reimbursement for the treatment of uninsured Americans. As additional distributions under the Relief Fund are made to providers, details will be available at:

If you received a payment and have a question, or believe you qualified for a payment but did not receive one, please call the toll-free U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) CARES Provider Relief line at (866) 569-3522.
